HURLEY & SHILLELAGH MAKING DEMONSTRATION -
Join our master craftsman in Fitzgerald's Pub, Avoca and hear the history of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association). Enjoy a short film about the game of hurling. See the raw ash wood from which a hurley is made, see the various stages of the creation of the hurley. Watch our master hurley craftsman at work as he demonstrates how this piece of wood is transformed - he has been making hurleys all his working life. You may wish to consider the possibility of purchasing a full sized hurl which he will have available if you so desire. Relax, unwind and discuss the game over a bowl of Irish Stew!
